Southwest Texas Electric Cooperative is a member owned electric utility that serves all or parts of Schleicher, Sutton, Menard, Tom Green, Irion, Reagan, Upton, Crockett, Pecos, Val Verde, Concho, and Edwards counties.

Chartered in 1939, Southwest Texas Electric Cooperative provides electric service to around 9,109 meters within 7,200 square miles of rural West Texas.


August 12, 1958- P.K. McIntosh, shovel in hand, turns one of first spades of dirt in ceremony marking construction of Southwest Texas Co-op's new home in Eldorado. Several founders, directors, employees and friends gathered to observe groundbreaking.
