It doesn't happen often, but when it does, it helps to know the correct procedure for reporting an electrical outage.

If your service is interrupted, the first thing to do is check your fuses or breakers to make sure the problem is not your own.

Next, check to see if your neighbors have service. This gives the dispatcher some idea of the extent of the outage.

In reporting an outage, give the dispatcher taking the call the name, that the service is in (name which appears on the bill), member number, and the meter number (this enables us to locate you more quickly). Please be aware that if you are calling during business hours, you should be talking to technician versus after hours or on weekend, please be prepared to leave a message for technician on call.

During office hours (Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5:00 PM), after hours, or weekends, please call 325-853-2544.

If you have any information about the cause of the outage (tree or limb on the line, broken pole, etc.) please tell the dispatcher. This will also speed the restoration of your service.
